I am interested in the function and molecular structure of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), particularly those involved in transcriptional responses with direct connections to human disease.  By coupling chemical probing methods with biophysical studies, I seek to map the structural organization of these molecules and then interrogate their structure-function relationships in cell-based assays.  Additionally, I am interested in the application and development of computational approaches to study RNA structure and evolution, with special emphasis on long RNAs.
