In the Pyle lab, I am interested in understanding group II intron splicing mechanism and the mode of action of its encoded maturase protein. I would like to apply various biochemical approaches as well as structural tools, such as cryo-EM, to tackle this problem. Moreover, I am interested in developing methodologies to discover novel structured RNA molecules within the transcriptome.
